Names in Lamplight are for recognising each other across the room. A name is two quiet words the app offers you, or a few words of your own.

Keep it kind

No slurs, no insults, nothing meant to wound.

Keep it yours

No real names of other people, no phone numbers, handles, links or addresses.

Reports are read by a person

A name that breaks these rules is reset, and the account can lose the ability to choose one.

Blocking is mutual and silent

Block someone and the two of you no longer see each other's names.
